Seeley to Supersport, stays with Relentless
British Superbike race winner Alastair Seeley has re-signed with the Relentless by TAS team for 2011, but will switch to the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship aboard the new Suzuki GSX-R600.

Seeley stepped up to the Superbike ranks with Relentless after his dominant turn for the team at Superstock level, the Ulsterman impressing in his rookie season by winning a race in the wet at Brands Hatch and securing a spot in the inaugural BSB title shootout.

Going on to secure sixth in the standings, Seeley will now turn his attentions to securing the Supersport title in a move that will also see both Relentless and Suzuki return to a series it won with Michael Laverty back in 2007.

"I am happy to be back next year with the Relentless Suzuki team and with a new bike for next year I think we will be ready to come out all guns blazing after testing,” he told the BSB website.

“I haven't raced a Supersport bike in BSB, but I did do the North West 200 and I don't think it will take me long to adapt, especially as I am working with the same crew that I had when we won the Superstock Championship. The team have won Supersport before and it would be nice for me and the boys to win two titles in three seasons, so that is the target."

Seeley's Supersport deal comes after Relentless recently announced Josh Brookes will join its Superbike team, while Guy Martin will take in the road races and several Superstock outings too.

With Laverty joining Swan Yamaha in 2011, Relentless Suzuki – which will receive manufacturer backing for the first time - will have an all-new Superbike rider line-up next year.

With Seeley going to SuperSport i see James Westmoreland taking the step-up and joining BSB with Relentless by TAS, Seeley will win the BSS championship easily next year no doubt. Maybe WSS for Seeley and TAS in 2012?

A little off topic but same paddock...
There is a rumor that Hopper is coming to BSB to ride for Paul Denning in Cresent Racing, possibly running Suzuki and possibly full Monster Energy backing. So could be a Monster Energy Cresent Suzuki or 2 on the grid next year.

I for one am immensly excited :D
