Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki's Shane Byrne says he can be content with securing a trio of podiums at Oulton Park, but otherwise felt he had a 'bad weekend'.
The former
BSB champion was a race winner at
Oulton Park earlier this season, but didn't have an answer to Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill throughout the weekend as he battled it out for remaining rostrum spots.
After losing out on second position at the final corner to Josh Brookes in race one, Byrne passed Michael Laverty late in race two to finish in third once again, before going one better in race three with a run to second.
Even so, while Byrne was pleased to notch up four potentially crucial podium credits, he was disappointed to be finishing so far behind Hill.
"To have a bad weekend and still come away with three podiums and one hand on a Showdown place isn't bad going but I was a long way off a win. We had some niggling problems which haven't helped this weekend so we need to sort these and come out fighting at Brands Hatch. Well done to Tommy Hill, he rode really well this weekend but next time out might be another story."
