Ellison gears up for BSB return at Donington

13 March 2013

Milwaukee Yamaha's James Ellison and Josh Waters will commence their pre-season preparations at Donington Park on Thursday.

The British Superbike duo are fired up and ready for action, with Ellison making his BSB return after riding for Paul Bird in the MotoGP CRT class in 2012.

“I am really excited and actually quite restless because I know we have a lot of work to do in these tests so I just want to get out on the bike and get stuck in,” said Ellison.

“I'm a bit apprehensive about the weather as its not ideal today (Monday) and we are supposed to be on track in two days and this will be the first test for us so track time is vital.

“At the workshop, the team have been busy preparing a great bike and I've been busy preparing a great rider and that's all we can do at this stage.

“I can't wait to get my leg over the Milwaukee Yamaha; it's been far too long since I had a boost of adrenalin,” he told the British Superbike website.

Australian rider Waters is an unknown quantity as he gears up for his BSB race debut in next month's season opener at Brands Hatch and is desperate to get to grips with the YZF-R1.

“I am really looking forward to it now as it feels like ages since I last raced,” said Waters.

“I obviously haven't ridden the Milwaukee Yamaha so I am hoping that we have good conditions at Donington Park and I can get a good feeling for the bike straight off.

“I have been doing a bit of homework and I have the three official tests to use to my advantage, which is good for me as I don't know any of the tracks,” he added.

“It is really good that we can get out there and get into it and I can't wait.”

Northern Ireland's William Dunlop will also test with the team in readiness for his outing in the British Supersport class next month on the Milwaukee Yamaha R6.
