The Bennetts British Superbike Championship will play their part in Silverstone's 60th Anniversary celebrations with a nostalgic display of classic motorbikes.
The Northamptonshire circuit will host the penultimate round of the championship, with Shane Byrne in a prime position to seal the 2008 title having amassed a 94 point lead, with only 100 now left available.
Beyond the main attraction though,
Silverstone will also play host to a variety of classic motorbikes as they celebrate 60 years of British motorcycle racing at the circuit.
Amongst the bikes that will be feature in a Classic Bike Display, next to the open paddock, on the Sunday of the race weekend include a 1954 John Surtees Rennsport BMW, a Mike Hailwood 350cc 4-cylinder Honda, a Steve Parrish RG 500cc Suzuki and a 1985 Joey Dunlop RS 250cc Honda.
The bikes will also take part in a parade lap, while more legendary machines are due to be confirmed in the direct run up to the event that will take place on 27-28 September.
