Trackspeed has revealed that it plans to return to the Avon Tyres British GT Championship for the 2009 season.
The team pulled out of the series last year as it felt the regulations were against its Porsche 997 Cup S machine and focused its attention instead on the FIA GT and GT3 championships.
Team boss David Ashburn took a number of points finishes in the latter alongside Richard Williams and will return to GT3 again this year while also taking in some British events in a 2009-spec 997.
The team will also run as second GT3-spec Porsche and will look to continue running in the full FIA GT Championship during the year ahead.
"We are very excited about the plans for 2009,” Trackspeed team manager Ricky Martino said. "The Porsche proved to be very competitive last season and the 2009 car should be even better. David did an excellent job in 2008 and is looking forward to getting back on the track.
“We are still looking for drivers for the second car and my door is always open to suitable drivers."
