Chevron GT3 invited to Goodwood Festival of Speed
'Young Gun' Jordan Witt and former BTCC and Le Mans star Anthony Reid in action on the hill at Goodwood this weekend
Chevron Racing has been invited to take the Chevron GT3 to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this coming weekend, where the car will compete up the hill against other iconic and highly regarded marques.
Driving the Chevron GT3 will be Jordan Witt and Anthony Reid who currently compete for Chevron, as a pairing, in the British GT Championship.
Witt recently took pole and won all three races at the Brands Hatch GT Cup meeting and is looking forward to his Goodwood debut.
“I'm excited about driving at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but nervous at the same time because of the calibre of drivers, both past and present, that will be there,” he said.
“The car we are going to take up the hill is the new Chevron GT3 which has been developed from the Chevron GR8, and has a bigger engine. Anthony and myself will share the driving, and Anthony has told me that if I crash on the first run both he and Nigel Mansell did it on their first runs, so I won't be in bad company!”
Reid, a 15-time British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) race winner, BTCC Masters and Independents Champion, and 24 Hours of Le Mans podium finisher, added: “The Festival of Speed is one of my favourite events. It brings together racing talent, is a real celebration of motor sport, and gives fans the chance to see their favourite cars and personalities drive up the hill.
“There is a roll call of more than 50 famous drivers who have driven a Chevron at some point during their career, and a host of them including Brian Redman, Richard Attwood, Jochen Mass, Vern Schuppan and Tiff Needell will be making an appearance at Goodwood this year.
“We, at Chevron Racing, are also delighted and privileged to have been given the opportunity to showcase the Chevron GT3 at the Festival of Speed this weekend.”
