Chevron impress at Goodwood

Anthony Reid goes quickest up the Goodwood Hill at the wheel of the new Chevron GT3
Former BTCC and Le Mans star Anthony Reid proved himself to 'King of the Hill' at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, after setting the fastest time on Sunday in the new Chevron GT3 machine.

More than 45 cars were competing to make it into the top 20 'shoot-out' finale, and a determined Reid unleashed the potential of his Chevron GT3 up the hillclimb course, finishing in a staggering 46.46 seconds on his final and winning run.

The Scot reached 131mph in the GT3 racer to lead the 'shoot-out', and made it a memorable weekend for Chevron Racing.

“That run took total commitment,” Reid, who drives the car in the British GT Championship, said. “Ahead of the weekend we were confident we could finish in the top ten, but to actually claim the top spot at Goodwood in the hillclimb is a fantastic honour. I can't believe it – the whole weekend couldn't have gone any better.

“I had three runs in total, the first in the wet and the second in not so good conditions, so for the final run I just had to go all out. I didn't actually clip the car, but in all honesty you couldn't have got a cigarette paper between the Chevron and the flint wall!

“I was blown away by the Chevron GT3 and the speed it gave me, so many thanks and congratulations to Chevron Racing.”
