Well that was pretty damn good :)

I'd like to change my favourite to Camier lol. Glad to see Ginters keeping up his pace. Cannot believe how quickly they have that Yam up to speed given they only fired it up on thursday. Good racing, wish i was there but least it was on the box

Congrats to Camier, Plater and Guintoli. Just a shame Guintoli got held up so long behind Harris - he might have been able to go with Camier.

Even with no testing the Ben Spies spec R1 of Camier was noticeably the best bike in the field - able to hold a tighter line than the other bikes which is a big advantage on that track.

Best rider of the day - Guintoli without a doubt.

Well, I've just got back from Brands, and thought it was poor.
Usually, the first race of the year has a feeling, a sense of occasion, but it was totally missing today.
Perhaps because all the quick boys have gone?
Perhaps because there are no MV's or Ducati's - just screaming Jap in-line fours?
Whatever, the racing wasn't that exciting, and crowd numbers seemed well down, I've never got in and out of the circuit so quickly before.
Prices of everything were up of course - good old Motor Sport (lack of) Vision is still doing it's best to milk the punter, even in a recession.
All in all, wished I'd stayed at home, sat in the sun, and saved my pennies for something more worthwhile.

@ zoom

You say the fast boys have gone but last years race times were:
(1) 29.24 (2) 30.31
This year they're
(1) 24.27 (2) 23.25

Trouble is I can't remember if or how many times the safety car etc was out last year.

Still, I'd hardly call Guintoli or Camier slow and Richards is quite tidy. Ellison graced the podium last season whilst Easton made a good showing on an inferior bike in '08 so I wouldn't be too down about the likely standard of racing.

'Facilities'.... well if people keep encouraging 'em.

Good day's racing I thought - close races and Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki in the mix for wins so far which is good.

Guintoli and the GSE Yamahas are new out of the box but there'll be more to come from both, and of course there's Josh Brookes to add into the mix once his paperwork woes get sorted. Although the evergreen Plater was hardly a million miles off race-winning pace.

There was also confirmation of a major new talent in the Supersport race - Dan Linfoot who we'd seen promise from in wildcard 125/250 appearances and the last year in Euro Stock 600, but now should be a major prospect for the future.

Zoom - the quick boys *have* moved up, but THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO :p
