Hah. Looks like Camier is gonna romp this 2009 season and take the title like Shakers did last year. Christ he's almost a second a lap up on Guintoli - a (young) MotoGP rider from only last season. That's impressive. Can't see him going to World Supersport next year (too big at 6'4") so someone in World Supers is gonna have to shift over... This kid has the experience and the youth to go far...

Byrne would be an iedeal candidate. I'd like to see Camier get a go at WSB. But let's be honest, apart from Guintolli the BSB field is pretty weak this year, so there isn't exactly much in compeition for Camier. I think he would be a decent mid-filed runner but isn't quite good enough to run with the likes of Spies, Haga, Fabrizio, Haslam etc etc.

As for being a second up, it's only the first FP1, you can't read to much into those times. Guntolli will need a few laps to get used to riding a superbike round there. I expect him to be much closer in qual and race.

This is what you call real sand bagging. Airwaves waited a long time to get there bike and stood and told the world that, they would be on catch up on the rest due to its late arrival. In reality they knew they were waiting for something special from Yamaha.
Leon's good but not that good. Jason Button on pole at Monaco who would of bet on that this time last year also. If you've got the tools you can do the job.

Now what WOULD be good is if GSE stopped p155ing about in BSB and stepped back up to WSB like they did before with the Yamahas (or even the 1098's) and unite Camier with Shakey again... Always did think it was a shame GSE didn't go to WSB this year and keep hold of Shakey.

Chris, obvioulsy you dont know much about Leon career, a championship about every 3 years. you'll see how good he is, if GSE get a wild card at Donnington WSK, then watch him mess with the "Big Boys" He's anything but a "middle runner" :)

Camier is the best British rider we've had for years. Put him on a decent bike in World's and see him lift the crown. Don't forget he stuffed Casey in the British 125 Championship a few years ago. If he had received proper funding then and been given a good package in the World 125 championship the following season then he could already be World Champ.

Hey, l was not knocking the lad, he's come up the hard way, and yes l do follow the racing. But i'am not swollowing the fact that his Yam is a diffrent spec to the rest. Airwaves would not of change from the Ducatis unless they were getting something special and special it is. That's why there's only 2 of the things in World supers. The stock race kits that comes with the bike is just not up to the job, hence Rutters departure. He's getting on agreed, but he knows better than others that he's flogging a dead horse, and he's not going to break himself to prove it
