Leon's deserved this all season - but man has it been a bit stale, especially when you compare it to the other results at Silverstone and Imola today.

(Not) nice to see the leg-breaker on the podium, although it's about time he was best Honda for once.

camier deserves sykes' factory WSBK rider.

Coming back from a major injury he was the only guy who could run with shakey last year and this year he's been in a different class to the opposition!

Well done Leon, a well deserved title.
I hope he can continue to produce the goods in future wherever he ends up racing.
Interesting observation from Whitam that the race pace this year has consistently been slower than last years.
But nevertheless, well done Leon!

He couldn't hold a candle to leon haslam last year(he(LH) won more races than Shakey in the second half of the season) and on his wild card on a considerably better bike he did no better.. Good season by leon(C) but it's like giving Sykes a factory bike... mental..

The truth is there has been no competition this year.At not one event this season has any lap record has been broken. Congratulations Leon but its a bit hollow considering all of last years quickest riders are in WSBK.

WELL DONE LEON, BSB Champion 2009. You deserve it.
Paul 27,
If you could get your facts right, there were no lap records last year either, because of the controlled tyres. If you listened to Colin Wright after the last meeting, he said that Leon would have beaten Leon H by three seconds from the time records for the race last season and the victory is anything but "hollow", he just outclassed all the other riders and was consistant.

Unfortunately for Leon he's a southerner winning in a paddock predominately full of northerners who take great exception to anyone good who doesn't start a sentence with eh up lad. Hence the amount of negative comments.
The kind of ability he has will always rise to the top. He most definately has deservs the ride Sykes has!
He's kept his head down and delivered time and time again the negativity he's recieving is discraceful.
