BSB » Ellison: Nothing to report – but time running out

Reigning British Superbike Championship (BSB) runner-up James Ellison remains without a ride in 2010 as the clock ticks down - but as he admits to feeling 'like he has lost a limb', he is still confident of being a part of what he predicts will be 'a really strong field' this year

Second in the championship and no ride?
What a crazy situation...
What are last years GSE bikes doing? Surely Yamaha UK can stump up a budget for Ellison to run them!
IIRC GSE had 50%-75% of the budget to run 2 riders. isn't that enough to run just Ellison.

I am astounded that a rider of James talent hasn't secured a top ride yet for 2010,this is a bloke that was was thrown in at the deeep of Moto GP with a crap bike, questionable tyres and give it his all, after his exit he regrouped and has re-emerged with some stella performances last year-he should have been one of the top choices for teams this season-what's your problem?

I Suppose it is finding sponsors. Afterall It was Jewson that kept GSE in the frame last year. Its not always about talent. There is plenty of talent out there especially in the British Quarter. I have known James for many years. when he won the European Superstock Championship TWICE he never had a ride the following Year. He didnt when he was world champion in Endurance. But you can bet your bottom dollar that the guy who came second Got a Factory ride, each time. Because they had big sponsors. Thats all. Rea has won European this year and picks up a ride. Its all about funding. :?

I don't know why he hasn't got sponsors - does he have a good manager? Seems a charming, presentable good egg to me who I think would do a solid job for a sponsor.

Good luck and I hope he gets a ride. If he doesn't get one by the start of the season perhaps he'll get some good stand in rides if other riders are injured.

Huh, as an American we don't really hear much about BSB so I just assumed Ellison had a ride already secured. I would even think he's an early fav for the title, no? Surely, someone wants to sign him.

Got to be down to him and Lowry for the second Hydrex bike, although you'd think GSE could find the budget to run as a 1 rider team retaining Ellison this year. Be a shame if he doesn't get a decent ride.

i can't believe Ellison's without a ride and if he hasn't got one, why is he over in Texas when he could be here aplying for jobs or going to see teams ! i bet he'll be alongside Stuart Easton - he can't not have a ride !!! :?
