BSB » POLL: Do you like the BSB rule changes?

The 2010 British Superbike Championship will be unlike any other as MSVR introduce a series of rule changes intended to spice up the racing - but do you think they will work?

I can't believe there are so many for the rule changes, apart from a couple of people on here there seemed to be a pretty much universal dislike of these uneccesary changes to the rules.
Current 70ish percent to 30ish percent against, i thought it would be about 95% against.
Just goes to show

I think the majority know that this is totally unneccessary........even tho' Camier deservedly ran away with the championship last season it doesn't mean that the quality of the racing throughout the field was diminished and it doesn't follow that it will happen every year.....this is just a knee jerk reaction dreamed up by a committee to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Manipulating the scoring in an attempt to improve (in their eyes) 'the show' is a real turn-off and devalues the championship. But will they take any notice of real racing enthusiasts? Of course they won't! They'd rather try and pander to a general TV audience who aren't really that knowledgeable or interested...

Evo Class good.

Points change bad.

This is not Nascar, lets say someone does as well as Camier last year. The for the final few races when they are fighting with the other top scores they fall and break their leg therefore missing 2 rounds, whereas before the points advantage would have been enough now they lose out big time.

I want to see how the Evo class works before passing judgement on that but it is the only area that i agree with at present. The silly points thing wouldn't even merit a mention...until you realise they are deadly serious.
Question for people who may know, is the Evo class almost like Superstock rules or is there a lot more room for adjustment/changes to the bike? The reason i ask is that if there is a big gap between the two it might be nice to see WSB go the same way as electronics have taken away something from the spectacle and it would reduce costs there too.
And yes all MSV pc's have been logged onto Crash and are voting for the changes lol! :)

Just one thing to add, i saw a comment about how out of touch the organisers are with the fans. I don't agree, i think overall they are in touch with us and the facilities keep improving as does the show.
I still cannot get my head round how this came about, it's almost like they've employed someone who is autistic to revamp the rules....the real "Rain Man" has been employed by MSV...he might be able to count matches and cards but he's no good when it comes to bikes! :p

If they were "in touch" in any way dont you think there would have been some kind of consultation process instead of this kneejerk reaction to Camier's dominance last season?

I'm slowly coming to terms with the new rules... and they aren't that bad - ok there might be a bad luck story here and there but there may also be a huge good luck story i.e. andrews winning on an under powered kwaka??

The bottom line is there will be 6 guys in with a shout of the title with 7 races to go... whatever you say that isnt a bad scenario is it?

Quali rule is also good.
