BSB » Ellison fastest – but finishes with broken femur

James Ellison picks up from where he left off the previous day in final practice at Thruxton - but a high-speed fall with 20 minutes to go leaves Swan Honda's title favourite nursing a leg injury...

Yes @ sbk fan thats exactly what i thought. They surely must be able to offer more information than that and if they couldn't should of waited till they could. They say a Broken Femur and later on refer to it as a leg injury. One is very specific and the other could be sveral things.I seem to remember him braking a femur before though. Not 100%though.I really hope things are not as bad as they could be.

Best wishes for a speedy, full recovery to Jarmes..he was looking strong after Brands and was a contender..
The femur is your thigh bone and is the largest and strongest bone in the body..he's out for the season.

Just been on the BSB website and they have said Ellison has a Broken Femur. That just about finishes his season off.Like you say Rawdawg "THAT SUCKS".And if i am a bit selfish i say i have just lost any chance i had i the fantasy road race.I am in the top 1300 at the moment. This guy does seem to get some setbacks.

Poor sod. If it is a broken femur season over. Tommy Hill will sympathise, he has just come back from breaking his femur twice. 2nd time was in his comeback race. Get well soon James. You can't keep a true racer and gent like yourself down for long.

Bad luck for James, but not necessarily out for the season. If it is the Femur then it depends on where the break is, i.e. a mid shaft fracture is relatively easy to pin and can heal quite quickly. If its nearer to the knee or hip or has tissue damage, then thats another matter. Fingers crossed for him though

Buelliful .

Damn, damn, damn! Man, what a bummer. I seriously thought James had a good chance of winning the title this year.
I hope your recovery is speedy and (relatively) pain-free James, what a shame...get well soon mate!

On a personal level, first Tommy out, now James. My Fantasy Road Race team is kaput!!! =8(

Let's hope it's an uncomplicated break but his championship is over..
If he could get back on the bike before the end of the season, without rushing and risking long term damage, then great..but next season is a better bet.
