Sod it I'll say it "Rock on Tommy"

However I still find it all a bit odd with it counting for next to sod all in the final reckoning, I still don't like this new championship system!

How is it that John Hopkins didn't win? According to some on here BSB was beneath Hopkins and that he'd show the BSB boys what real talent is. "He should be in MotoGP full time" they said, yet he was comprehensively beat by Shakey, who, according to those same peolple could only win on a V-twin.

What's going on? Can anyone explain?

190 you're overstating what people said. Even Whitham recognises the pressure John Hopkins is under because he is in fact a high calibre rider, the highest in the field.

Mike, you can't of been reading too many of the BSB posts in the build up to the start of the season if you think i'm overstating. Shakey has been derided by quite a few on here, with Hopkins being billed as someone who was going to walk over this championship.

The "can only win on a V-twin" line has been used more than once when discussing Shakey and that he couldn't get another ride in WSBK because he was useless. Yet this so-callled useless rider didn't have much trouble beating Hopkins.

If, according to some, Hopkins is this great MotoGP rider then he shouldn't have too much trouble beating the likes of Shakey. Should he?

It's also premature to be writing Hopkins off after one round. 11 rounds & 22 races to go. Like it or not Hopkins is the best rider in this Championship even if he fails to qualify for another race nothing changes that.

No Mike you misunderstand, i'm not trying to start an argument, i'm just wanting to read what those who criticised Shakey - some of it quite vitriolic - have to say after todays performance. I'm not deriding Hopkins, just those who seem quick to dismiss Shakey.
