Bit of a riding lesson handed out by Shane Byrne today - first race from 33rd to 3rd and fastest lap. Second race from 1st to lead by 11 seconds and in the interview said he thought he had another second a lap in hand!

Kiyo has now dropped out of the top 6 - needs to get his finger out or he wont qualify for the shootout!

To be fair Kiyo has never got on with Croft plus it was lashing it down there aswell (i got a tad wet !)same today at Thruxton grrr! hopefully knockhill will provide some nice dry race days for the guys.
Absolute shame Alex lost the bike on the second race :( but he'll prove himself again and again ...no doubt about that :)

Yes - Peter Hickman outstanding.

Re Kiyo - his problems apparently relate to the new blipper system which helps with downshifts - it isn't transferring as much weight to the front so he is lacking frontend feel.

Bridewell is a mystery - does the team lack money.

Very impressed with John Hopkins - firat time at Thruxton and gets a 4th and a 3rd. He appears to be riding well within his limits and therefore not crashing - a big contrast with when he was in WSB. A strong 2nd in the championship and I am sure he will be able to produce extra pace for the end of season shootout.

Rider of the day Peter Hickman ??

Yeah jog on mate.

Rider of the day was Shakey Byrne, no question about it. 2 podiums, 1 a race win by 11 seconds and last to almost first in race 1.

Hickman's not even in the same stratosphere frankly.

Also interesting how the CastrolHonda WSBK team have been tweeting Shakey to congratulate him on a stunning days work. Oh yeah ? Cosying up to Shakey are we ready for 2012 are we ? Escpecially as that mug Xaus has literally just crashed his brains out and taken Haslam with him with the most audacious and reckless move at Miller just now.

Xaus out, Shakey in for 2012. End of.

Rider of the entire weekend has to be Pete Hickman. Never out of the top five in qualifying, led a BSB race for the first time, got his highest position of 5th first time out then stuck it on the podium. To top a banging weekend off, hes in the top six shoot out group. Some bizzare people suggested Tommy Bridewell should of ridden Hickys bike after shafting his own twice. Thank God that stupid decision was never taken.

Rubbish.
Hickman was in P1 a third of the way round lap 1... Shakey passed 31 people to be dicing with Rutter for second ??? How is that the same ?
Whether anyone expected Byrne to carve through to almost win the race or not, he still had to do it in treacherous conditions, with a bashed up hand and knee. Then got pole for race 2 and won it by a country mile.
That's the story of the day. Sorry.
