Can someone please explain what the EVO class is? I was under the impression it was a superstock class...but I see EVO times mixed in with the superbike.

That's intriguing....

Don't suppose you happen to know WHEN Hudson Kennagh made the call to sit out this round or why he said he was doing it do you Chris?

I won't be pointing at his team-mate Miller with any sort of criticism. What a way to have to start a series.

It does seem odd that Splitlath have a new rider at this round and one rider missing - is that a coincidence?

Hopefully Miller can find enough extra speed to qualify.

re Evo - as pp916 said it is a superbike chassis with a superstock engine - the idea being to save costs. The organisers want the championship to go all Evo, but some of the big budget teams are objecting at the moment.

It is a championship within a championship and replaces the privateers cup. Confusing thing at the moment is that some privateers are running superbikes because they bought last years superbikes.

At some circuits and with a skilled enough rider an Evo bike can score top results especially in qualifying, despite the 30bhp deficit, as we have seen from Lowes.

The 107% rule is at the organisers discretion. They will let him race i am sure just to do the decent thing by Splitlath.John will of known that it would be a challenge for Mark to qualify within the 107% rule but after travelling all the way up to Scotland it would be cruel not to let them into the race.

I think it's 107.5% now. Jenny didn't qualify for one round - was that the reason she didn't race or was it lack of parts at that round also?

Interesting that Jenny was entered in Superbike, but Miller is on an Evo bike.

Can anyone confirm whether the 107.5% is from the pole superbike time or the fastest Evo time for an Evo entrant?

The 107% rule is from the fastest time in the entire session,FULL ON SBK or EVO.As the bikes occupy the same track under race conditions it is put in place on safety grounds, especially at smaller tracks. On todays performance Mark Miller would get lapped at least 3 times in a 30 lap race.Dont forget that the race leader has clear track and the pack slow each other down so the lap times between first and last under racing conditions could be greater than first and last in qualifying.
