"Pulls clear..." is a bit of a short-sighted way of describing the situation surely ?

Once we reach Donnington on 11th Sept, it won't make a blind bit of difference whether Shakey is 10 points or 200 points ahead of his nearest rival... the points will all be levelled at 500 anyway, with podium credits added on.

So whether he's been on the podium at every round or not, all that effort and success will make f**k all difference.

What a top concept for a racing series that is !!!

It does make a lot of effort in the early rounds kinda pointless...why go flat out for the win when a second will do to get into the shoot out..not really what you want to see.

Admire Mr Palmer and the work he has put into the Uk circuits, but this is an idea from the Bernie Ecclestone school of silly ideas!!.

I wish Shaky would make a mockery out of this system. He should build up his lead and once he's secure in the top 6 don't show up for the remaining rounds until the shoot out. Really, what is the point on risking injury and crashed bikes if he's already in the shoot out?

@ RawDawg

If he gets called up to stand in for Jonny Rea in WSBK - a strong possibility I understand - he won't be able to show up anyway, he'll be off on the world circuit. And a no-brainer of a choice it would be too!

The Ten Kate bike is rubbish anyway. I still think Shakey can get a shot in the WSBK if he wins another BSB title. Xaus is a major disappointment after his pre-season results so this seat will be free next year surely (with a new CBR I hope).

Well I heard a rumour that Rea might be off to Aprilia next year. Not entirely sure who is vacating a factory ride at Aprilia to facilitate Rea coming aboard... Biaggi is hardly unhappy having won the championship on it last year and contending it again this year, so it can only be Camier. But where is he gonna slot in ? Yamaha aren't dissatisfied with their two riders are they ?
And besides, why would Rea think he could do any better than Camier on the 'Biaggi-cast-offs' Aprillia ? A british lad is never gonna get better or even equal kit compared to Italian Biaggi in an Italian team on an Italian bike...

If Rea moves, and Ten-Kate do only run 1 bike, surely they'll want someone more capable than that clown Xaus on it, whether he brings money or not. What's the point of him bringing money if all they do is p1ss it away rebuilding his bikes that he crashes whilst racing Vermeulen and the other back markers at the back of the pack, out of camera shot ??

Stick Shakey on it and pay him

shakey proved that hes not good enough at wsbk level,he done fk all,and his team mate was a contender, now that would be a waste of money, win a weak bsb race or two,and think thats world class, well its not
