Have i been ignoring the grass roots of our sport . I am really amazed that i didn't know the Race of the year was on last weekend. I Remember when this was one of the main events of the year even for the GP riders and the works teams. How things have changed. Once again though Sam Lowes has shown that he along with his brother Alex are two of the best young riders around at the moment. Well done Sam look forward to your first win on the world stage. After giving myself a good talking to about the old days i will pay more attention to our home events.

Great ride by a great kid.well deserved victory. The race of the year trophy has only been won by top riders and motorcycle greats.I think in Sam we have an up and coming great. This lad will be a world champion within the next 5 years.
good luck on the world scene Sam.

Does anyone care really? The news on here is getting so out of date which is
a shame.

To be fair though if Lowes hadn't won it
would have been a bigger story, looking at the riders there he was always going to win!

Can't wait to see Alex on that new Snetterton track this weekend too, hope he has a good one on the Kwak!

What a shame that this once important meeting has become an (almost) none event. And I say that with the greatest respect for the riders that did take part.

I remember the days when as far as mainland Britain was concerned it WAS the race of the year.
