I feel sorry for Dan if it was the teams decision to let him go, he's a really talented rider who hasn't got to show his true potential yet on a superbike due to issues with the bikes he's been on. It's not like he's been throwing it down the road either, his only crash was at Croft when he got tangled up with Hickman and Rutter.

I'm not sure how good the SMT bike is, as the only time he's been able to run at the front was in in wet conditions at Truxton which created a more level playing field. You only need to look at how good he was in the European Superstock 600 championship and in British Supersport in 2009 on the R6 to know that he is very quick and knows how to ride a four-stroke, so I think the issue is likely to be with the bike, not the rider.

I hope he gets another superbike ride soon as I think he's got massve potential.

I wish people would stop comparing stock 600's to superbikes.
Irrelevent of linfoot's talent which he does have on a superbike, this trend in Britain of banging on about this kid and that kid in stock600's and give them superbike rides etc etc is really ridiculous.
IMO these STOCK 600 riders should be forced to go either Supersport600 or STOCK 1000 as a next step ensuring a genuine talent progression. It takes EXPERIENCE to ride a superbike well.
I say again no reflection on Linfoot because he was won of the few who do have the talent.

I agree that SSTK 600 to Superbike is too much of a jump, I only mentioned it in Dan's case as he's won races at European SSTK 600 level. Even Supersport to Superbike can be too much of a jump as there have been a number of fantastic Supersport riders that couldn't cut it at the top level, Karl Harris is probably the prime example.

Maybe he could fill the vacant Tyco Honda seat. He was after that ride at the start of the season but didn't could get the budget together. Although I'm not sure how much of the bike is still ex HM Plant after Tommy Bridewell's crahes!
