For Shakey to have his huge points advantage over Kiyo all but wiped out by this ludicrous system is just plain wrong. Not only that but Tommy Hill is now in front of him where under the normal system he would still be 20 points behind. If Kiyo were to get his act together and steal the championship from those that have done all the graft up to now it would be a travesty.....the REAL champion will be the one who scores the most points without all this manipulation.

If Kiyo manages to win the title this year then it will be a very hollow victory IMO. In the past he has been awesome but this year he has looked like a shadow of his former self and no way deserves to be champion. The shootout system is useless and does little more than treat racing fans like X Factor viewers. The fact this ridiculous system is not used in any other class of professional racing says it all really. Hopefully the 'real' winner will still take the title then they can bin off this joke of a points system for 2012.

I am just glad that Tommy has the opportunity to win it with the most real points at the end of the season. In fact it looks like the only true winners of this can be either Shakey or Tommy, with Hopper sitting out this round he lost a massive amount of points and it would take some extraordinary circumstances to give it to anyone other than the current top 2, unless your name is Stuart Higgs :P
Tommy is currently 2nd in the championship and we all know that.
Good luck to the top 2 and let's hope the winner has the most points whichever way you look at the points table come season end.
If one of the others win it then there is going to be complete and utter uproar from all and sundry...

This is bunch'o'crap about not deserving. These rules are set at the beginning of the season so teams can strategize or what not. Maybe kiyo's plan is to save the parts for the shoot-out. Sounds like a good strategy.

It's a pile of pants Mr Palmer, and most people can see the reasons why !!! Just change the points scoring to 20 for a win 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10 etc and let it run for the whole season. That way you'll get a closer championship with out all the crap. 5 extra points for the win, and every other place worth fighting for. Surely more agreeable to riders and teams alike !!!!

It would be a bit of a travesty if Kiyo won the championship now.

I'm a fan of Kiyo btw, I'd love to see him get his finger out and win a few races now but this points system is silly.
