Just to highlight the unecessary boll*cks of this 'showdown' format.....there were 2 riders in contention for the championship today, under the conventional scoring system there would have been 3.......so what's the point exactly?
SS600 didn't need it, neither did 125.....both edge of the seat final round deciders without, as Jack Burnicle put it so succinctly,'superflous interference' and 'false engineering'.

@pp916

Agree 110% with you my friend. Shane Byrne is the rightful 2011 BSB Champion with a masterful performance today, from gun to tape in both races. And probably would have won yesterdays race also if his grid position was in keeping with his obvious ability.

"Shane Byrne is the rightful 2011 BSB Champion"

No he isn't, Tommy Hill is! I agree this "shootout" is daft but it's the same for everyone. I love Shakey but he should have made sure he won the shootout shouldn't he!?

If Shane scored the most points then he is the true Champion of 2011. The best rider in race 3 was the rider who came out of Robin Crofts Garage . with only a few people working in the Team that was tantamount to James Ellisons Talent when he can take the Sorrymate bike where no other previous rider could (mixing it with the Factory bikes). Where all other riders refused to ride it. James got apodium and was surely riding a tactical race to stall hopkins and let his mate tommy pass.

The only fake champion is Hill who can only win by someone artificially engineering him a championship win by chopping Byrne's lead going into Donnington.

And Byrne STILL out-scored them all - 403 points.

Anyone who knows anything already knows that when it comes down to what matters, which is racing, Byrne is the rightful and moral 2011 Champion, not Hill.

OK then Mokka...

Who scored the most points over the 26 races ? And I'm talking about without the b0ll0cks of poxy 'podium credits' and that load of jibberish whereby the top 6 get levelled at 500 after 9 rounds...

Under the scoring system that all other championships use (for very good reason), tell....me....who...scored...the...most...points...?

@cubikrube

If I were you I'd put it out for the dustman in the morning cos it don't belong to a championship winner for sure... Shakey Byrne went home with both of his boots...
