TOOK HIS TIME

PROBABLY THE BEST MOVE HE HAS DONE
IF HE CAN DO THE DOUBLE THEN HE COULD
STAND A BETTER CHANCE OF MOVING TO BETTER THINGS.
"MIND YOU" THERE NOT MUCH BETTER THAN B.S.B
WHEN YOU LOOK BACK TO THE "2011" SEASON

oh great!!, he will be britains answer to mat mladin. can give a beating to the local folk but reluuctant to get on the world stage. I mean whats the point in staying in bsb? Hell, even Ellison managed a ride in Motogp its ubsurd to think that Hill couldnt find a decent ride in WSBK. And dont get me wrong, i think tommy is a fantastic rider, ever since watching him dice on the Suzuki against kiyonari in 2010. This just seems like a backward move for him to stay another year, especially with most of the front running team having new riders.

I don't think he had any competitive options in WSBK so instead of doing a Shakey he stuck with Swan Yamaha. It's also good to see Hutchy back in BSB on a strong bike, of all the bike racing I think I'm looking forward to BSB most.

Reading between the lines, I would say Tommy couldn't land a competitive ride on the world stage so had no other option but to stay put.
Obviously, publicly he has to say all the right things like trying to defend his title etc but inside he has got to be disappointed not to be moving on.
A real shame that the BSB champion couldn't get a decent WSB as if he doesnt defend his title next year he may have missed his chance to progress.

@ Ridgeracer

And why should every rider who wins a British Championship move to world stage the next year? Finally we can see how a reigning champion performs in the championship, he can prove how good he is. It is better than taking a low-profile ride in WSB (there was very few competitive seats available) and if he wins the 2012 championship, he can still go to WSB.

Didn't Hill already loose a WSBK ride in 09 due to "underperforming?" If that was the case (can't remember for sure) then why not stay in BSB rather than take an uncompetetive ride elsewhere?, might do Tommy more good than harm long term.

How is Shaun Muir an eponymous team manager?
Eponym, 1: a person (real or imaginary) after whom a discovery or place etc is named or thought to be named.
2: the name given. (based on the greek onoma name)
...eponymous.
Thanks Crash.net, I have learnt some English language today.

Suppose the success of the team depends on the amount of factory support they have, as seen in the two years that yamaha wsbk machines have been used in the championship - 2009 and 2011, both championships being won! Would be good to see a few more regulations giving the smaller teams more of a chance showing off rider skill rather than who has more support and more dosh to spend!
All that aside, my moneys on Kirkham to do well in 2012!
