He was one of Scotland's true legends! The achievement that stands out for ne the mist is beating Valentino Rossi's record at Donington on a Superbike! He was a great motorbike racer and I met him a couple of times at Knockhill and he was a great down to earth guy! He is sadly missed!

Hizzy is greatly missed. I was fortunate to have met the man and chatted to him and interviewed him on numerous occasions - including a lap round the TT course (in a car) with him. He remains one of my all time favourite riders who was superb on both road and track. He was breathtaking in '01 and '02 on the MonsterMob Ducati in BSB and is one of the greatest riders ever to race in the Isle of Man.

I was a big fan, still am

Other things that stick in my memory, the boost yamaha battles with Mckenzie and his sacking as champion by birdy, I still haven't forgiven birdy for that.

Can never ever forget that Norton Isleman Ride. Even today is fantastic to watch the mesmerising sound of that Rotary Twin on the hands of Hizzy.
