BSB » Noriyuki Haga heading to Swan Yamaha BSB?

“Just lost my 2nd ride for the year” - Anthony West.

Sort Comments: Oldest | Newest

In this electronic era, BSB (with its electronics ban) & road racing (fingers crossed for the world series RR) is where real racing will be at in the near future. Go back some years with WSBK and you can see that the ex GP boyz generally were no better than the others. The last couple of years only highlight that Moto GP isn't real racing, it may as well be Scalextric.

Err it's not no electronics it's a standard ECU i thought in BSB?

Sick Cylinder....you must know how happy i am atm, shame Tommy didn't go WSB though as the banners are gonna be a pain..got 2 huge ones already for Nori, now have to match that for Tommy lol

Missus asked what i would do if it was another Hopper situation but between 33 and 41 instead...think i'd just have a heart attack and be done with it!

This is proper exciting news though, well fired up for seasons start now :)

It would be nice to see Anthony West on a competitive bike, too many years languishing on turds after Kawasaki cursed their riders, de Puniet included, ... Maybe fate can smile back at West this year?

@Cubikrube - i think by "no electronics" most posters know that I mean no rider aids - although they are running a spec ECU, the rider will not have traction control, anti-wheelie or launch control.

Does anyone know whether the new BSB bikes will have electronic engine braking assist - that is one rider aid that I haven't heard mentioned.

Personally I feel seeing bikes backing in to the corners adds to the spectacle.

I love watching Nori ride and have follewed him from his first appearances in WSB. But just a tip for him when he comes to BSB. Take a leaf out of Corsers book and have a bit of time for your fans. leaving the truck at the last minute and walking to the pit with a face like a slapped **** is not endearing his fans even Biaggi has more charisma. At Portimao he looked like he did not give a monkeys for the people waiting for a an autograph and a photo opportunity. The reason he is there is because they are paying to see him.

Nori's fans don't care about the things he does off track. He doesn't like to sign autographs ? Big Deal ! At least he's not an hypocrite. Do not confuse Rossi fans and Nori's, we're not expecting the same things from our favorites riders.

Answer to you question on engine braking, yes the Motec 170 ecu will be able to fine tune the engine braking on all the superbikes especially those bikes fitted with fly by wire throttle control as standard. All the teams will need a good electronic engineer in their pit box to set up the motec system. The traction control which is being banned for 2012 will only slow the bikes when the tyres are worn so in qualifing and the early part of the race the lap times will be on a par with 2011 times as Gowland has proved.tyre management will play a big part in 2012 and looking at BSB and WSBK the Yamaha does not look after tyres as good as the other bikes.Nori Haga on a superbike with worn tyres and no TC,i cant wait to Samuri of slide doing the biz. .

Yeah Nori can be a little resistant to sign but it depends on when you get him tbh. We got him on the Friday night at Donny last year and he was fine, relaxed with his family, we all got some pics with him, no issues. Saturday up until after the race Sunday he get's focussed and whilst he aint overly happy to sign stuff he still will do...
Biaggi ignored 2 people on meet the fans day, one of which had a replica lid of his and had waited for about an hour for him.
Anyhow...looking forward to seeing Nori sliding it round some of the uk's finest tracks for our enjoyment :)
