Ian Lowry has moved to the top of the MCE British Superbike Championship standings after posting his maiden series victory at Thruxton.

Still have no idea why TAS dropped him, but he's certainly showing his class yet again.

Great to see Padgetts up there too - we know they can produce a cracking stock bike or supersport ride, just ask Brogan or Plater - so let's see them up there for the rest of the season as Scassa's starting to look good on that 'Blade too.

Results at Thruxton rarely reflect on the rest of the season as its such a special track, so the two meetings so far may not be typical, that said the lack of trick electronics has levelled the playing field and will hopefully allow some of the smaller teams such as Padgetts to shine, they deserve this for their years of constant support of BSB.
Lots of class riders never shine through due to a lack of decent machinery or management, maybe the new setup of standard ecu will give us a cracking bit of racing.
Lowry had his bike set up well and used his head, fair play to him, and yep the "official" Honda team must be a little red in the face.
