I would be very surprised if anyone can make a Panigale competative under the current BSB rules. It makes less than 180BHP when every other bike on the grid is making close to 200 and the good ones well over that, worse it makes no torque, which is unbelieveable for a big V twin and it's fragile too with con rods failing. Even Carlos Checha's comment that his first test was "positive" isn't exactly gushing praise! and that is a full works bike......

Can't see a GSE return anytime soon, they operated with budgets far in excess of most current teams and Colin Wright has been critical of the current tuning rules.

Rumour has it that Checa wasn't particularly impressed with the Panigale after that test, despite what he said, and he rumours are that he's being courted by BMW (again) and Kawasaki as a result

The reason the Panigale isnt competitive in BSB is that the teams have difficulty in integrating the Motec ECU into the Panigale electronics.
Running the stock Ducati ECU the bike runs at the front of European Superstock 1000 without issue.

the fact is, and always will be, doodson racing will always run at the back of the field, you can have all the money in the world but it aint no good without talent. so they are on hondas now, and what happened, well nothing realy !

Mike, The bike runs perfectly well on Motec and if you look at Alex Polita's lap times they would put him right at the front in Superstock but they were not in Superstock they were in Superbike and that means they were between 1 and 3 seconds a lap too slow depending on the circuit.

i was watching Tom Tunstall today at the mallory park hairpin testing his Honda.
There were six or seven club riders and people riding classic bikes lapping faster than Tom in the damp conditions.
Tom will be off to Oulton park to make up the numbers with his so called ELITE team.
The sponsorship that Doodson give to Tom should be given to a more worthy cause, there are plenty of up and coming stock 600 riders that could do with a hand out and stock 600 is where our future Superbike riders will come from.
What a waste of money.

I just looked back at the previous qualifying results from Snetterton, Outlon Park, Thruxton and even the short Brands Indy Polita on circuits he is learning is 2 to 3 seconds a lap faster than Tunstall. I guess "parting ways" in this instance means Ducati and Polita have walked away rather than being pushed.
