Cath was unlucky due to mechanical failure not to win two earlier races. What really impressed was the manner in which she did it. For those at Cadwell can confirm the weather conditions all weekend were strange to say the least.Rain, Hail, Sun and strong cold wins. Caths win also seems to reflect a wider interest in racing by women It was good to see so many women on their own bikes at the meeting, young girls talking excitedly about the machinary and race stats. And even more priceless was Whithams reaction to the win. Always referring to Cath as a Lady rider (not a girl) like some commentators, and the genuine delight that she won. Should have made the news.

Somebody asked who would be quickest if Catherine & Jenny raced? Well, they often did in 125cc, and generally Jenny was the faster of the two. Having said that, it really looks like Catherine has upped her game.

Am rather concerned and annoyed that such a big story as the 1st ever woman to win a British Championship race and do it so convincingly took 3 days to be aired by Crash.Net.

A fantastic result for Catherine, I wish I could see that. Here in New Zealand our last 250 National Championship was won by long time bike racer Karel Pavich. If you are interested in women in motorcycle road racing look at her website it's under KPRacing.co.nz

Absolutely fantastic but Im a little confused. Is she the first BSB race winner, or was it a supporting race? In other words it says "Motostar Championship Race". Nonetheless good on yer girl!!!!

perhaps we have reached a stage where a woman winning a race is just the same a man winning a race. We have been heading for greater sexual equality for many years, and whilst we aren't yet there, perhaps this is a sign that acceptance is upon us. Congratulations to Catherine, but I think the suffragettes are making this a stand for women's rights, rather than getting on with the racing.
