'Sure, it won't be easy to be on top in such a difficult championship and a different bike, but we'll do everything to arrive there quickly' - Jakub Smrz

Great coupe for splitlath but got to question the motivation behind Smrz move. The bloke is seriously fast and deserves to be in WSBK. I can't see splitlath offering him lots of money? This guy is probably the class of the field but IMO doesn't have a bike to match his ability.

Aitchison did get it moving at Cadwell in qualifying and race 1 before his off.

I heard Derek Redmond say they have got Smrz's setup for Assen from his Aprilia from 2 years back (1st half of 2010 when PATA had a Aprilia) to put on the bike. That'll either work or screw it up if the current bike is significantly different to the WSBK spec from 2 years ago.

Smrz achieved nothing on the Pata Aprilia and i am 100% certain that the Pata bike ridden by Smrz in WSBK would have been a better bike than the bike Splitlath can give him to ride.
Also Smrz is as fast as anyone in Wsbk on a Q but this solution is not available in BSB for qualifying.
A good rider for sure especially over one lap but he belongs in WSBK and he will be using Splitlath to earn a few dollars until something better comes along.
If the next BSB round was to be held at Thruxton i bet he wouldn't be riding the Splitlath bike there.
Kuba loves Assen and he has raced at Silverstone and Brands hatch and he needs the money.
Smrz is a class act and may suprise a few people in the last 3 rounds but to sign for 2 years in BSB with Splitlath.

A current BSB rider had been offered the ride but they wanted paying for it and he wanted paid to ride it.

I reckon Smrz is taking funds with him. On paper there is no reason why the bike should not be competitive but the team seems to be a shambles like Liberty.

Shame for him though, he deserves so much better than this.

I hope this does not end his career.

The way they hire and fire people I'm sure it won't engender loyalty from a new rider.
I suspect smrz will be off when a better ride comes up, and splitlaith will have had the moment of publicity they wanted. A win,win .... unless your names john laverty.
He did well to keep a lid on it in his interview as I reckon he was spitting!!!

Splitlaith don't promote a good image of bsb
It seems they worry about publicity as much as results

totally agree big mart.every oppotunity Derek Redmond has he sticks his face in front of the camera.
Splitlath seem to be a team that love the publicity that the BSB elite team status brings with it but appear to be way of the mark when it comes to supplying a competative bike for their riders.
If Smrz signs to race in BSB next year it will be with a better team than splitlath,They are all show and no go.As Mart says'a bad advert for BSB'
