Whilst I applaud a master class of skill by Shakey over the 3 rounds, this still highlights why the series has no true credibility anymore. But hey ho if the riders and most team managers see it's a flawed championship and are powerless to change it what chance have we got !!! Carry on Campers.

@relentless2 I have some pics of Josh getting his kit off, though I've yet to upload them onto my computer and sort them out. Must be loads of pics out there from the pro-photographers though.

The management are making more money from the new system by more people wanting to see the showdown rounds, meaning probable higher turnouts for the last 3 rounds than they would have had.

As a fan of bike racing all my life I have allways gone to see some races every year. Now however I am voting with my feet by not going.
I have watched on telly all the rounds this year and did enjoy the tension and excitement of the weekend, but it is wrong.
A championship is about who wins at the end, overall. Not the last few races, this is so unjust!

I have heard Tony Carter (at Silverstone) blathering on about this points system in the only way a know-it-all can do.
I have also heard Stuart Higgs talking about being in the entertainment business.

Fact is, as Shakey Lover just posted, viewing figures and attendances at the tracks are up across the board. All the while that remains the case they can arguably be justified in saying that the showdown format works.

A few unhappy posters on Crash and elsewhere will not change that.

I would argue that the new Evo spec has done more to entertain than the silly points system but hey-ho, still can't wait for next season where based on this year and last Josh will be 2013 champ..hows that for a predicatably unpredictable championship lol

i think it is obvious that the showdown is here to stay. i just think that if they are going to use it maybe change the points system some how. i do not understand why they get 500 plus podium credits just start back at 0.also if you win before the showdown you basiclly score 1 point over second then during the showdown back to 5. i know they still get 25 a win all season but they dont really count.i know they need to score to make the showdown but did anyone think that SB TH & JB would not. anyway still cant wait for next year

Christ all. The championship, with this format, has been turned from a league system
To a cup style competition. Everyone knows that. EVERYONE. So anyone with half a brain will approach the season accordingly. The moans here are the same as when football moved from a 2-point win system to a 3-point in system.
This sport, like all others at the top level, exists for the fans. A championship that's finished 4 rounds early has no appeal to fans. So all to play for at the end, like.... A cup competition! It's quite simple really and makes the tickets at the final round worth something. Remember last years BSB finale? Remember last year's MotoGP Finale? Exactly!

Does this system make for a better finale than the SS600 championship, which came down to the last race of the last round? Or the WSB championship which was won by a half point at the last round? No it doesn't. The level of competition in BSB is excellent, there are no runaway winners, if the quality of the racing is good overall there is no need for a manipulated scoring system.
I don't want to keep bagging on the series over this issue, there's a lot of good things go on in BSB which are brave, pioneering and successful, but sometimes they're going to get it wrong and they should be open minded and non-egotistical enough to realise that and take a step back.
Tony Carter's opinion is of no value...he has a sneering disregard for the punters that pay to watch BSB and is too busy feathering his own nest to have an unbiased view...

That really is an impressive season of results.

Just how many of each place did JOsh get does anyone know. Must have been more 4ths and 3rds than the other two.

I also dont like the showdown system. I call for Higgs to poll the fans for a vote whether it should be kept.

Good on you josh, totally agree with rules being pish. Josh was a man about it as was shakey last year, tommy not so happy this year!! What I like and wsbk should think about is the lap time in race 1 being the starting place for race 2

Josh Brookes to his fans is the true champion this season! The scoring system need to change ! The shoot out is a joke ! It was a hallow championship win for shakey this year as Josh worked his off and never missed a race. Shakey cannot say the same ! Tas just need to give the Gixer a few more BHP for next season as shakey made it look easy passing josh in the last race he was waiting his turn the last few laps . If proves how hard Josh was riding the wheels of the Suzuki to come were he did this season! He is brilliant to watch and I was lucky enough to meet him at the North West 200. He was a gentleman and i enjoyed talking to him about BSB ! Seeley was not much help to anyone , an embarrassing season to say the least! The young American would be a good bet for a contract with Philip and Hector. Good luck Josh for the 2013 season !
