Will miss watching you ride next year.
I for one cannot understand why he cannot get a ride in WSBK. He is a much better rider than he was when with Althea.
Good luck in 2013 but really hope a good offer comes your way.

Typical tommy hill. Throwing his teddies cos he can't get what he wants. He can't get a ride cos no one in the big league rates him. If he is so special he would've been signed by now so instead of continuing to try and prove his worth, he quits. Rock on tommy.

What this doesn't say is that Tommy has a baby on the way. What better time to take some time out and get some perspective than for the birth of your first child....

Totally unexpected decision, but it might play in his favor. Sometimes one needs a time off in order to sort off his priorities, relax, put some order in his activities and try to get a new perspective on things. I hope he'll be back in 2014 with a fresh desire to race and win. To make a parallel with Biaggi, freshly retired, he also had a year off before switching to WSBK and it came good in the end. Tommy Hill is still young and he could find new goals for his racing career and come better after the brake. All the best wishes for him!

The problem for Tommy is that there are already a lot of Brits in wbsk so the opportunities are limited. Some like Haslam have had repeated chances and never quite made it even on good equipment so for Tommy to get a chance it will need one or more of the Brits to leave.

Who does he think he is, only top riders like 6 times world champion Max can take a year out of the sport and win world championship races, bad move Tommy

Surprising news, expected him on the pb crt. Although he was quoted at wanting the longshot of wsb yams with swan!
I agree with previous poster - how often have we seen in recent years someone on a big team gets a season ending injury but all good riders are under contract. Now not wishing ill on any of those crazy pilots but.... it's a fair bet that someone will need a quality replacement rider at short notice. Que tommy hill 33, wonder how he will get on with the bridgestones!

I find this a load of crap, He WILL be on track next year somewhere. Just not got the offers he expects!!! Can guarantee this is a PR stunt. Palmer, higgs or whoever will tempt him with SOMETHING or even someone in wsbk. Dont believe a word of it... he will be somewhere. He is just playing a game to get someone to offer him what he "believes" he is worth. Wait for the announcement... Tommy Hill has signed for.....
