A determined last corner pass earns Alex Lowes a magnificent second MCE British Superbike win of the day at Silverstone, but it is Shane Byrne who has inched closest to the 2012 title.

I dont think Shakey made a rookie mistake at all. He didn't need to win at Silverstone as he knows he can win the title at Brands Hatch. If he had defended his lead agaist Alex Lowes and they had both come together then they would be both out and Josh Brookes would have the lead today instead of Shakey. Just wait for Brands and see how it all pans out. When Shakey lifts the title there will be no talk of why he let Alex win at Silverstone.
