Superstock move for Smart

British Superbike race winner Scott Smart will switch to the National Superstock 1000 Championship in 2009, it has been confirmed.

Smart, who raced for Hawk Kawasaki in 2008, will move to the series riding a Moto Rapido prepared Ducati 1198 S after being unable to secure a place in the Superbike class.

For team principal Steve Moore, the acquisition of Smart, whose last race win was at Donington Park in 2006, is a big coup for the team.

"As soon as the specification for the 1198 S was unveiled last November, the preparation for a Superstock team began and the search for an experienced and talented rider,” he told the British Superbike website.

“We are therefore delighted to have secured Scott Smart's services for the team, he will be involved not only with riding the bike, but also the technical development of the 1198 S."

Scott smart is a very capable rider and engineer. He will do o.k. Be positive he has a ride unlike other superbike riders out there. :) Good Luck Scott
