Andrews misses Brands test.

New MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider Simon Andrews will miss Thursday's Brand Hatch BSB test due to bruising sustained an accident at Mallory Park.

"It was a shame for Simon and his crew yesterday but nevertheless, we did enough laps to extract some strong data,” team owner Nick Morgan told the official BSB website. “This has confirmed that the work we have done in the workshop over the winter months has really worked. There are some significant changes to our bikes for the 2009 season and clearly these are a really bold step in the right direction.

“We may be down to one rider temporarily but Julien [Da Costa] is massively experienced, mentally very strong and also very quick and professional. He will continue to spearhead the development work while Simon's bruising subsides. The bruising to his ego may take slightly longer to heal, though,” he joked.

MSS and Buildbase had been invited to test with the WSBK Kawasaki team in Spain this week, but opted for Brands Hatch instead.

Also testing at Brands are Relentless Suzuki by TAS and Jentin's Jon Kirkham.

The opening round of the 2009 BSB season takes place at Brands on April 13.

“This has confirmed that the work we have done in the workshop over the winter months has really worked". Nick, he crashed. But if you're telling us you *designed* it to do that then I guess you're right - it really worked
