Harris continues to lead at Brands

Karl Harris continued to exert his dominance on the British Superbike field at Brands Hatch as he topped his third free practice session of the weekend.

On a track that started damp before producing a dry line in the latter stages, the Hydrex Honda rider was marginally quicker than Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier after hitting the top of the timesheets around the half-way mark.

Camier made consistent improvements throughout the session to come away just four hundredths of a second behind Harris, although team-mate James Ellison was still having a troublesome time down in 14th position.

Recovering from his off yesterday, Ian Lowry was a strong third on the Relentless Suzuki, while Gary Mason continued to dominate Cup proceedings in fourth position overall – almost a second quicker than second place Tom Tunstall.

Rob Mac Racing's trio of riders also made substantial improvements through the morning session, with Chris Walker, Graeme Gowland and Michael Rutter claiming the fifth, seventh and eighth best times respectively and only MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews getting amongst them in sixth.

John Laverty made it a good session for Kawasaki in ninth, while Glen Richards rounded out the top ten on the HM Plant Honda.

A fifth free practice session follows today 14.30.
