Harris still confident of victory challenge

Karl Harris shrugged off his fourth place starting position for the opening round of the 2009 British Superbike Championship by insisting that he is feeling confident for the races.

Harris has been the general pace setter throughout practice, the 'Bomber' topping four of the six sessions to head into qualifying as a favourite to take pole position.

However, the Hydrex Honda rider was unable to match the pace of pole sitter Sylvain Guintoli, leaving him on the outside of the front row, just behind third place team-mate Stuart Easton.

Nonetheless, despite not being quite able to live up to his practice promise, Harris says he knows where he is losing time and is confident the subsequent changes will work to his advantage in the races.

"I am happy enough with a front row start as I have shown that we have the pace here this weekend and we still have a few changes we want to make for tomorrow morning,” he told the official BSB website.

“We have some work to do on the front end as we are losing a bit at Paddock Hill Bend but we are looking at the data tonight to see what we can change to make it better. I know we can be up there tomorrow, I just need to go out in the races and really go for it."
