BSS: Kennaugh just misses out on podium

Hudson Kennaugh gave a hint that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the 2009 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship after finishing fourth on his debut with the Linxcel-Seton team.

Switching from the Raceways team over the winter, Kennaugh qualified on pole position provisionally, although he would be bumped down to second place by the final qualification.

Getting embroiled in a fight for the lead with Dan Linfoot and Billy McConnell, Kennaugh held third for almost race's entirety, but was demoted to fourth by charging Steve Plater on the penultimate lap.

Nonetheless, Kennaugh was delighted to prove that he will be a front runner once again in 2009 and is looking forward to launching a title challenge in 2009.

“Fourth place gives us some good points in the bag,“ the South African said. “The Linxcel-Seton Tuning team have really stepped up over the winter period and it's showed today.

“We've gelled really well as a team and this will undoubtedly bode well for the remainder of the season. The Linxcel-Seton Tuning motorcycle's are really strong, especially in the engine department.”

“It's been a phenomenal start to the season for the Linxcel-Seton Tuning team,” team manager Phil Seton said. “We've really opened some eyes within the works teams and, for a privately run outfit, fourth-place is an amazing achievement.”

Hudson is capable of winning the championship. Expect the bike will be good enough, so don't be surprised to see him pull it off. Could put the team on the map. Go Boet!
