Ian Lowry put his Brands Hatch troubles behind him with a fine qualifying run to eighth in the latest round of the ViSK.com British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park.
With injuries sustained in an accident during free practice hampering his progress at Brands Hatch, Lowry maintained his top ten practice form through to qualifying by reaching the shootout for the first time.
Once there, the Relentless by TAS Suzuki rider proceeded to snare a spot on the outside of the front row in eighth position, much to his delight.
“I'm really happy how the weekend has gone so far, especially having never ridden a Superbike at Oulton Park before,” he said. “The team have worked very hard over the past couple of weeks in between rounds to improve the bike, and I'm absolutely loving how the whole package is working.
“I don't want to sound too confident but I'm riding within my limits and am confident of a top result in tomorrow's races. I must at this point thank John Reynolds for sharing his experience and knowledge with me throughout the weekend.”
