Karl Harris took an important step towards a first British Superbike Championship victory after claiming his first double podium finish at Oulton Park.
Having topped each practice session in the run up to the race day, Harris lived up to his billing as favourite for victory by leading each race in the early stages.
However, while he was powerless to prevent a charging Leon Camier from snatching victory away from him, Harris was untroubled on his way to two eventual second place finishes, a first for him in 58 race weekends.
“To come away from here with two double podiums is fantastic,” he told Crash.net Radio
. “I was catching Leon in the second race but I made a big mistake and nearly hit him and ran wide. He made the break and I couldn't catch up, so I just thought I would settle for the position in the end.”
