Glen Richards says he had plenty of positives to take away from the second round of the British Superbike Championship, despite being disappointed to have not finished better.

After a successful opening weekend at Brands Hatch on the HM Plant Honda, Richards was looking for more of the same at Oulton Park, but found himself on the cusp of the leading battle throughout practice, qualifying and the races.

Nonetheless, while an eventual sixth and fifth place finish didn't reflect his hopes heading into the weekend, he was pleased to have learnt more about the Honda CBR1000RR

"It's been a positive weekend in terms of getting to a really good base chassis set-up for racing and I've learned a lot more about the Fireblade and how it handles, but, I'm disappointed to not have achieved better race positions and be on the podium again.

"In race one I had a few issues with rear grip so made some changes to the rear shock for race two which made a positive difference. But I just couldn't ride the bike to its full potential and I need to go away from this race and get my head totally dialled in to where I need to be and then be back ready to challenge for the podium at Donington."
