Hydrex rivalry heats yup.

Karl Harris may still be chasing his first BSB victory, but the Hydrex Honda rider - second to Leon Camier at both races last time out at Oulton Park - is sure 2009 is 'his year' and that when his first win does come, more will follow.

“Oulton Park was great but I want to be consistent and of course I want my first win,” said 'Bomber' presently fourth in the championship, just two points from Glen Richards but already 38 behind Camier.

“I am sure once I have that win more will follow,” he declared. “I need to keep my training up, which I am, and focus on consistency. This is my year and Donington, followed by Thruxton, is key to the rest of the championship for me and the team”

Team-mate Stuart Easton has dropped to sixth in the standings after his technical DNF early in race two at Oulton, having finished fourth in race one.

The Scot, who began the season with 3-4 finishes at Brands Hatch, is now eager to get his title challenge back on track - and is more than willing to battle Harris for a first Hydrex win.

“After Oulton Park, Donington cannot come quick enough for me. It's been two weeks since the last round but at least I know I have the speed,” he said. “I don't think that the Championship table is a true reflection of where Hydrex Honda should really be.

“Seeing Karl doing so well has just given me more focus and intent to go on and do better. I want to get Hydrex Honda their first race win, even if that means beating Karl to it,” he stated.

Team owner Shaun Muir is happy to let the internal rivalry develop.

“This year the team and riders have gelled better than before and it's also great that Karl and Stuart are competing against each other too,” he said.

geoff do you really think that bike has got a standard road engine in it? Whilst I'm sure the Cresent boys will, like everyone, be looking for more on the dyno, there's no doubt that thing is already seriously trick. Even the Super"stock" motors are blueprinted and modded to an extent.
