MSS Colchester excited by Kawasaki upgradesd

MSS Colchester Kawasaki head to the latest round of the British Superbike Championship at Donington Park brimming with confidence having cured their electronic problems.

Simon Andrews provided a star turn last time out at Oulton Park, qualifying on the second row and running with the leaders for a brief time. Furthermore, this was achieved minus any electronic aids following a series of problems during free practice.

Nonetheless, the team have been working hard in the break between races to get ready for Donington Park, with manager Nick Morgan hopeful the changes will help them to continue their ascension up the grid.

“It's been a steep old learning curve but the Magneti Marelli system is now right up to speed and pretty damned amazing, to be brutally honest,” he said.

“Clearly our ZX-10Rs are fast enough, handle as well as the best of them and now, with glitch-free electronics we're going to be right on the money at Donington. It's an exciting prospect.'

Indeed, Andrews is excited by the opportunity to be able to ride the bike at its full potential.

“The boys have been flat out, knee-deep in wiring looms, connectors and solder since Oulton Park and I can't wait to ride my ZX-10R with all the bells and whistles working. It was awesome without them but it's going to be really trick now…”

It is a sentiment shared by team-mate Julien Da Costa, who is eager to put a disappointing weekend at Oulton Park behind him with a better showing around a circuit he 'knows and loves'.

“For me Oulton Park was best forgotten. I prefer to look forward and Donington is a circuit I know and love. I will be giving 100% to show everyone what the bike, the team and myself are really capable of.”

I would love to see this machine start to show it's full awesome potential and I think Andrews is 'up for it' just not sure MSS are. They have had support from Kawasaki as 'the works' team for some time now with little, or nothing to show for it! Kawasaki, don't you think it is time to return your support to Hawk?
