Leon Camier picked up where he left off as free practice for the third round of the ViSK.com British Superbike Championship got underway at Donington Park, the Airwaves Yamaha rider leading by a sizeable margin.

Competing with a full specification engine for the first time this weekend, Camier moved to the front in the latter stages with a lap time of 1min 32.468secs, some seven tenths quicker than his nearest competitor Stuart Easton

While the Hydrex Honda rider's last flying lap wasn't enough to get close to Camier, it did place him second, marginally ahead of Sylvain Guintoli, the Frenchman's prior experience of the circuit ensuring he is up to speed immediately.

Glen Richards was fourth quickest, ahead of initial pace setter Karl Harris, while Jon Kirkham put in a fine early showing on the Jentin Yamaha to post the sixth quickest time.

R1 counterpart Chris Walker was seventh, ahead of leading Kawasaki representative Simon Andrews, while Jason O'Halloran and James Ellison completed the top ten.

Elsewhere, runaway Cup leader Gary Mason once again led the privateers in 11th position overall, just ahead of factory rider Josh Brookes on the HM Plant Honda.
