Guintoli moves to the front

Sylvain Guintoli moved to the top of the timesheets in the final British Superbike Championship free practice session at Donington Park, the Suzuki rider leading four manufacturers inside the top four.

The first rider to beat Leon Camier so far this weekend, Guintoli's lap of 1min 31.670secs was four hundredths quicker than his title rival.

With warm weather helping riders improve their lap times, Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki were represented inside the top four, with Glen Richards going third ahead of Simon Andrews, both also dropping into the 1min 31secs bracket.

James Ellison followed in fifth position, ahead of Josh Brookes on the second HM Plant Honda machine, while Stuart Easton and Chris Walker maintained a comfortable top ten presence in seventh and eighth. Karl Harris and Ian Lowry completed the top ten.

Gary Mason continues to lead the way out of the Cup riders, in 11th position overall.

Slightly different take on Foo Atari's summary (tho basically I agree with him) Guintoli's posted 2 x sub 1.32 laps. Camier managed 6, of which 4 were strung together. It all looks very promising for a good race ..... Even the weather forecast's been uprated from showers all day to sunshine at least in the morning.
