Simon Andrews believes a maiden ViSK.com British Superbike podium is in the offing after securing his first career front row starting position at Donington Park.
Capitalising on a new electronics package being introduced to his MSS Colchester Kawasaki ZX-10R this weekend, Andrews had been a consistent top five performer during free practice, form he was able to replicate during Superpole.
Although demoted to fourth by James Ellison's final flying effort, Andrews was nonetheless thrilled with his performance, not least because it makes Kawasaki a competitive entity once again.
"It has taken me some time to adjust to the MSS Colchester Kawasaki but now I have no excuses and I have to be out there really challenging and being competitive,” he said. “The bike has had some changes for this year although you can't notice it just by looking with the human eye
“There is no reason why we can't challenge for the podium. We have had good lap times this year and we did well at Oulton Park too. This proves it isn't a fluke by getting a front row start. We just want to be consistent and put Kawasaki back where it needs to be!”
