Guintoli moves top in warm-up

Sylvain Guintoli opened up race day for the third round of the ViSK.com British Superbike Championship by topping morning warm-up at Donington Park.

The Frenchman, who will start second on the grid, edged out pole sitter Leon Camier by almost three tenths of a second after getting close to his qualifying time in cooler weather conditions.

With Guintoli and Camier on course to take their battle into the races, Stuart Easton got closest in third position, albeit four tenths further adrift on the Hydrex Honda.

Two of the stars from qualifying, James Ellison and Chris Walker, continued to show their good form by going fourth and fifth quickest, while Josh Brookes made a substantial improvement to begin the day sixth best.

Kawasaki pair Julien Da Costa and Simon Andrews sandwiched Glen Richards in seventh, eighth and ninth, while Karl Harris completed the top ten positions.

The first race of the day takes place at 13.00GMT
