Andrews thrilled with Kawasaki form

Simon Andrews says his MSS Colchester Kawasaki is 'awesome now' after producing another strong showing during the latest round of the British Superbike Championship at Thruxton.

Andrews rode to a fourth and sixth place finish at Thruxton after completing series of impressive overtaking manoeuvres necessitated by his tenth position grid slot.

Including a remarkable pass on Glen Richards around the outside of the fearsome Church bend, Andrews was full of praise for his rapidly improving ZX-10R machine.

“Thankfully I got great starts and stuck some pretty hard passes on people in the early turns. It was a good strategy because the bun fight further back helped me get away with the leaders. The bike is awesome now. The front end is so, so good. We all know what they need and after Thursday they'll have it!”

Team manager Nick Morgan was also delighted to be witnessing his team getting ever closer to the podium around on the calendar's toughest venues.

“That was mega. The team is really buzzing, everyone's pulling together and grafting hard and results like these just breed such a huge feel-good factor. It makes all the effort worthwhile. For us, mere minnows in the race paddock, to be beating the official Honda team is just brilliant. We'll take some more of that please.”
