Ian Lowry ascension in British Superbikes continued at Snetterton as he posted his first top five finish at this level.

Having already finished sixth on three occasions this season, Lowry prevailed in a race long tussle with Chris Walker during the first outing to take his and the Relentless Suzuki team's best result of the year thus far.

Going on to finish seventh in the second after losing a dash to the finish line with Julien Da Costa, Lowry was pleased with his overall performance but is now setting his sights on translating it into a podium finish.

"I was pleased with the first race result of fifth," he told Crash.net Radio. "I knew I had the pace then, so I wasn't as happy with seventh in the second, but a few things just didn't work with the bike. There were a few bits and pieces to get sorted out, so we should be there or thereabouts at Knockhill.

"I am dying to put it on the podium for me and the team. For me, it is all a learning curve, coming to a track for the first time because we have a lot to do in a short space of time, but I am looking forward to the next couple of rounds.
