Bridewell has points to prove at Mallory.

Having been overlooked by leading BSB teams seeking replacement riders, Tommy Bridewell will continue with Team NB Suzuki at Mallory Park next weekend, the circuit where his brother Ollie lost his life in 2007.

Despite operating on a shoestring budget, Bridewell has taken three Mirror.co.uk Cup wins in the last four races since his BSB return, including a perfect double victory last time out at Knockhill.

The 20-year-old was also the top Suzuki in the second race, in ninth overall, and - despite not initially having the budget to contest the Knockhill and Mallory rounds - the Bridewell Racing Team has dug deep into its reserves and now plans to contest all remaining events.

"Most people know what happened at Mallory two years ago so I'm going there with a couple of points to prove to myself and others,” stated Tommy. “Despite two or three bikes becoming available after Knockhill, I'm disappointed that no one even gave me a call so I've realised that I need to keep putting myself in the shop window and a couple more wins at Mallory will help. It's only another circuit and it will suit my bike so there's no reason at all why we can't continue our good run of results and that's the plan.”

Bridewell has his sights set on beating the factory replacement riders; Tommy Hill at Worx Suzuki and Steve Brogan at HM Plant Honda.

“We've got the bike working well and I've got the added incentive of beating those guys who are just coming into BSB on those bikes so rest assured, if anyone thinks I'll be fazed by the place and I'll be holding back they will be sadly mistaken,” he declared.

“We are going with the sole intention of securing another pair of top ten results, winning both Cup races and beating as many works bikes as possible."
