Hill to Suzuki for 2010

Tommy Hill has signed to ride alongside Yukio Kagayama as the Worx Crescent Suzuki team returns to a two-rider line-up for the 2010 British Superbike season.

Hill temporally substituted for an injured Sylvain Guintoli at Crescent early this year, when he challenged for the podium at Mallory Park, then put in two top-five performances at Brands Hatch.

The Englishman then made way for Guintoli and finished the season with Hydrex Honda, taking two podiums at the Oulton Park season finale.

“I'm over the moon. I'm very happy to be in the Worx Crescent Suzuki team,” said Hill, who began the 2009 season on uncompetitive Honda machinery in WSBK. “I've worked with the team this year, and so for me going into winter testing with a team that I've already worked with is fantastic. The Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a cracking bike, to have that and a team that I want to work with is so important – that's always good for a rider's confidence.

"For me, the only downside is that now I've got to sit around and wait! I just want to get on with the season right now and get racing again. In the British championship we have a long winter period. Sure, we will be testing in the New Year, and there will probably be the odd shakedown before Christmas, but you know I just really want to get riding right now!"

"It was always my aim to have a younger rider in the team so we're very pleased that we've managed to sign Tommy,” added team manager Jack Valentine. “He did a very good job for us when he stood in for Sylvain earlier this year and I'm in no doubt Tommy fits the bill perfectly. He certainly showed what he was capable of in the few outings he got this year and so we're looking forward to working with him in 2010 – I'm sure he's going to be running at the sharp end every week."

Guintoli will ride in World Superbike next season.

Tommy Hill is a good choice , don't worry about this. Yukio will be motivated to do well at the BSB, wait and see....It can be a surprise for some of you but I believe it is a good choice to play at the top. HasBEEN will be HODGSON Neil !!! :)
