Former World Touring Car Championship title winner Andy Priaulx may have left the season finale in Macau without any silverware, but the Guernseyman didn't head home empty handed after a helmet swap with Isle of Man TT legend John McGuiness.

The pair have both enjoyed success at the challenging Macau circuit in the past and have become firm friends in recent years while competing at the end of season event.

Honda rider McGuiness has now competed at Macau on twelve occasions, while Priaulx has raced in the WTCC six times at the Chinese venue and raced in F3 before that.

Prior to leaving for home, the pair took time to swap helmets and Priaulx insisted that McGuiness' lid would have pride of place in his home.

"I have the utmost respect for the bikers round this track," Priaulx said. "I know how dangerous it is in a car, so can only imagine what it is like on a 1000cc bike. John and myself have become firm friends over the years and so it just seemed natural that we should swap our helmets - I think this is more sensible than our racing machines!

"I am delighted to now own one of his helmets and this will have pride of place in my Guernsey home."
